I am quite sure he did not die, Its been a while since I read the books though. I believe he settled down with the female elf from novindus who had those elf twins. Mirandia rescued them and brought them to Elvander. So far the elves have not been brought into the Conclave series but only the first book in the series has been released so far out of 5 so plenty of time for Talon to vist them , Plus I think Tomas would be in the conclave.

The only mention of Elves in Concave is that Caleb stayed with them for a while - so lets hope they are in upcoming novels - well having Caleb in them would be neat

Ditto on the above respons...Calis made Miranda a promise to return and live with the elves for a time. I think it was in Shards of a Broken Crown that Tomas meets with his son, Calis who is taken by the she-elf from Novindus and her sons.

I surely hope that Calis gets some time in the new series, Conclave of the Shadow. I really enjoyed his character.

No, the children had lost their father to the war in Novindus. They bond to Calis first because he speaks there native tongue, and he, like they, is still an outsider of sorts in Elvandar.
