When I came unexpectedly across " Twilight" in my bookstore I was happy to see one vampire novel after long time published in my own language. Happiness shrink whenn I read some words on the back flap. A romance ! A Vampire an teenage girl! What a rubbish ! But then I read some recommendations on this forum, and bougt it. But, Mom always said to me : hear your inner voice first. And this ist true. "Twilight " is not a book for vamire novels maniacs, and not for those ,who are seeking for real thrills in the spine. Its for teenage pussycats, whose dreams of handsome, no, not handsome , but beautiful and mysterious young lover are crystallized in the person of pale, highschooll buddy. In German I can name this book - "Schrecklich", but not - terrified. And if something fills me with terror , it is what young girls have to long for.
PS. Thanks for Nicholson. It is a new name for me in the genre, and next to order in my e-bookstore.

omg....how can you not love Twilight?! i know personal preferance but it is my absolute favorite book and the sequal is not half-bad for all those werewolf lovers too....if u like love stories this would be a good choice for you but it had action in it too and most people who read it love it so i say give it a chance

another good but teenish book is Blue Bloods idk if anyone had mentioned it, its pretty good but rather short, you could finish it in one to two hours tops.

I liked 'Twlight' too! Not all vampire stories have to be scary...
My favourite right now is 'Already Dead' (Charlie Huston), I don't know if anyone else has already mentioned it? Another one well worth checking out is Robert McCammon's 'They Thirst', a story of vampires taking over LA It's hard to get hold of but I reckon it's the best vampire novel of the lot!
