Personal Libraries
Ever since I can remember, I've had a dream of having a personal library. You know, the multi-storied type with balconies, spiral rod iron staircases, those gliding ladders and an intricately carved desk in front of a multi-storied window. This, unfortunately, will never happen, unless I happen to win the lottery some day. But I can dream, right?

Yes, I am jealous too, Nickee.
Even down to the Sputnik hanging from the ceiling!
Though they're not 'private' library, THIS LINK shows some amazing public ones...

Pshaw! You might not have the architecture, but you seem to have the books to fill it!!! 
As to the link you gave: jaw dropping. Though, I got to use the Reading Room at the British Museum back in 2007 when I did some research. I have never felt so damn scholarly in my life, let me tell you. I was afraid they wouldn't let an undergraduate in, but after getting a prof to write them a letter, I was in. I'll never forget sitting in my assigned wooden carrel, waiting expectantly as one of the attendants brought me my books. Oh the glee!!!

When I get my own house in about 10 years or so, my main living room feature will be a wall to wall ceiling to floor bookcase against the wall the door is on and I'd love a huge comfy red fabic armchair that'd I'd be able to drown in.....metaphorically

LOL. Well, that's the plan: I may not be able to afford to buy a library of that size, but I can build one out of books.
Following my visit to the Gemmell Awards earlier in the year, I now also have a British Library readers card!!!! (It is an amazing place....)

Jay Walker's personal library is simply amazing! I was looking at the pictures and wondering, "Who is this guy?" (while I was drooling). Yes, that would be a dream to have a room like that...I'll just have to settle with one (or two) walls, and numerous .pdf's 
Also, the public libraries featured are quite amazing as well...I hope to one day have an opportunity to see one or two of them.

To be honest, I found it a bit OTT. Too messy for my liking, as well
