Jeff Vandermeer is putting out Veniss Underground next month. I'm planning on picking that up after City of Saints and Madmen blew me away. DrB

I'll add my voice to those saying "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"! I've already reserved my copy at the local store so that I won't have to squabble with crazy children and parents at the shelves. And I still got it for 40% off. I'm pretty sure I'll be there at midnight ... don't think I'll be camping out or dressing up, though.

I'm also looking forward to Robin McKinley's new book Sunshine, coming out this fall.

There's a Danish series about the "Shamer's children"

The concept of the Shamer is really cool, although the stories are maybe a bit too repetitive.

the first three are called "the Shamer's Daughter", "the Shamer's Emblem (or sign, i don't know), and "The Gift of the Snake"/"the Snake's Gift" - the latter, however, would be badly translated.

The next one, which I am eagerly anticipating will be called "The Shamer War"

Author? Lene Kaaberbøl/Kaaberbol
