who publishes??

Just as a matter of interest, having written a couple of short stories. Where would be the best place to try and sell the stories to a s.f. mag, especially if you have the idea for a book. anyone have any suggestions?

John,

As I said before, I am a struggling author myself, though in a slightly different genre from you.

I have been in touch with a company called Hyperion Web Publishing at http://www.hypwp.com who have agreed to publish my first crime novel. They are also looking currently for authors in your area.

I'm reading your story "The Banquet" at the moment, and will get back to you.

i'm doing the same thing, actually - not quite an agent, but i work with my authors pretty closely in finding publishers beyond the shotr stories they put on my site. I'm working on an article specifically about publishing, and I'm about to put a huge market list link page up in my author's section, so look for it at my website - www.scifihaven.com - look uder "new fiction"

Thanks for the tips guys. It is much appreciated. As I said, I have two offers from publishers to publish my first book, but they are 'vanity press' publishers and so it is hard to say if they like my book or just like my money, so I am very interested in seeing what the online publisher has to say. It is v e r y hard for any new writer to get published though, and I think this web site is first rate giving new writers a chance. I currently have the idea for a new book but I also have to work full time so having the time to write is also a problem. But, like everyone else, if its something you want to do, somehow you'll find the time. I'll let you know if my book is accepted online or not.

I've asked a Q simular.
RE: Badass publishers.
Most places seem to be either family orientated, or rocket scientists, or both.
My stuff is mean, and often quite risque.
And it badly needs a home.
Nobody's answered me yet, I'm being ignored. Boo-hoo.
Perhaps they never will.
But never mind.
I've learned to smile.
-tee-hee-hee! (I could do this all day!)
