Not only does this film have amazing kung fu and what you would refer to as unrealistic moves, that seem realistic, but it's got a great story of an interesting theory. The computers have taken over the world and we are all slaves in our minds and do not even know it. The world outside the matrix always has a blue hue, while the matrix has a green hue.
Awesome film making and definitly an icon for movies to come. A must see.
| Submitted by Anonymous (Nov 02, 2005)Even though most of its ideas were taken EXACTLY from the famous Japaneese anime, Ghost in the Shell (1995) of Mamoru Oshii, it represented the idea to bigger audiences with the help of Keanu Reeves and the imaginary delusions and persuative attraction of Hollywood. Most of the people oversaw the philosophical approach behind the scenario and focused on the visual effects and scenes (which represents a failure imho as sci-fi is not that simple, where it should produce a more concrete image and ideological approach, vision). If you liked the idea, then watch Ghost in the Shell and Ghost in the Shell II - Innocence and see the carbon copy ideas of Matrix. The good thing is that, Matrix producers (x brothers, I forgot their names) actually accept that they "influenced" a lot from Ghost in the Shell...
| Submitted by Saia (Jul 29, 2005)I happen to think that the movie was a refreshing look at the journey of a mans life, and what it takes to succed. The speciial mix of Reeve's style, a great screen play and action made for a cult classic! The second instillation was less recieved buy fans, due to a muddled plot sequence but when paired with the other two films, painted a clear picture of a mans physocal and spiritual journey in life.
