Based on the book 'Queen of the Damned', this movie shows us the awakening of the Mother of all Vampires, Akasha (Aaliyah), and the vampire Lestat (Stuart Townsend), as well as the relationship they have.

Is easy to understand the fact that many people who have read the Vampire Chronicles will HATE this film. I personally loved it (and I've read the Chronicles).

This is a good movie, but just this: a good movie. It's not that good if you think of it as a book-based movie.

The movie twistes and changes lots of things (for example, Lestat was NOT created by Marius, but by Magnus), but still it has a good storyline, a good script, and STUNNING special effects.

If you love vampire movies, you'll find lots of things in this one: love, sensuality, destruction, but always with that vampire beauty that keeps many people wanting more.

Unfortunately, Aaliyah, who played Akasha, died in a plane accident.
