I loved the Inheritance series - it wasn't wonderful writing, but there was a fast-paced originality about it. The movie contains none of these elements. The script is truly awful - containing a few cliched sentences - none of which were present in the book. There is absolutely no detail and none of the complexity which makes fantasy so enjoyable. 'Eragon' is visually stunning, but it seems that neither the director nor the scriptwriter were in the least interested in creating an enjoyable, interesting movie.

This has to be one of the worst movies ever!!! So bad, that I am embarrassed to say that I read the book! The book was a good read and I would recommend it (until this sad movie came along). Everything was forced, no back story, no details that would have made things believable or understandable. The makers of this movie were just trying to cash in on the book as cheaply as possible.
