Submitted by Gina (Jan 01, 2005)I first saw Black Christmas in the winter of 1975. It absolutely terrified me then. I bought the 25th anniversary edition a couple of years ago and was just as scared 25 or more years later. You can tell that the film was low budget one but it was done in a very frightening way that is just as effective today. Seeing the movements and murders through the killer's eyes is bone chilling and the horrible voices on the crank calls will send shivers down your spine. Back in the 70's there was no caller ID and the frustration shown in tracing the calls seems so real. The acting was quite good. The only thing is that the movie has some slow parts. The ending is absolutely terrifying but all makes sense when Olivia Hussey kills her boyfriend and everyone believes that he was the killer. The ringing of the phone at the end is chilling and I was the most scared when the police told her that the calls were coming from in the house. A very scary movie! A must see!
