Submitted by Noelle (Aug 21, 2004)My friend brought over the DVD's for season one and she showed me the first two episodes. That's it... I was hooked. Next thing I know I'm buying season one for Fathers Day (okay, so it was for me, but hey I've gotten dvd's for Mother's Day that he wanted before!!! I swear!) and now we are planning to buy season two for our anniversary.
I now call my friend my crack dealer. That's what I feel like - an addict. I have to watch - I have no cable so I watch the dvd's over and over.

Submitted by Anonymous (May 26, 2004) Johnny Smith - an ordinary name, but not an ordinary man. Smith, played by Anthony Michael Hall, can see things. Yes, even dead people. But this TV series happens to be a lot more interesting than The Sixth Sense.
The show, loosely based on a Stephen King novel, follows the life of local hero Johnny Smith while he uses his gift to help save lives, catch criminals, etc.
So how did he get this gift? Johnny was once a teacher, but he was involved in a serious car accident which left him in a coma for 6 long years. When he awoke, he realized that by touching things, he could get a vision of the past or of the future. As the doctor put it, Johnny's "dead zone" had been activated. Apparently everyone has one, they just don't work. Go figure.
Every time I watch the latest episode, I am amazed by how captivating it is. The storylines are alwats creative and unique. The viewers intrest is held throughout the whole hour by plot twists, occasional good humor, and darn good acting.
I would definitely recommend this show to anyone and everyone. In a world where TV is dominated by reality showed and bad sitcomes, The Dead Zone is the gem among them, from the title screen to the credits.
The Dead Zone airs Thursdays at 12 AM EST (So set your VCR if you're not an insomniac!) on USA network. It is in it's third season.
