uninvitedJean and her three friends are out camping in the woods when they are abducted by aliens. When Jean awakes after the brutal abduction, she finds herself in a secret Government Facility, seemingly being tested to see if she can be released into the world again. Or are things really like they seem?
A low budget film about aliens... Sounds like something that's doomed to fail, doesn't it, or maybe not? I must say that I was a bit sceptical when I started watching this movie and the beginning was kind of a letdown. The whole camping in the woods sequence gave me a weird Blair Witch deja vu flashback, and not a good one at that. From there on it picks up quite a bit though.
The Government Facility is just brilliant. We follow Jean as she tries to escape the facility. The whole atmosphere is extremely weird and disturbing and you don't quite understand what is going on, although you almost think you got it...
Acting-wise the whole movie stands and falls with the performance of the lead actress, Megan Lee Ethridge. As Jean she is the one who carries it all from start to finish, and I think she pulls it off pretty well.
What I enjoyed most about Alien Abduction was that it was refreshingly different, it's disturbing and weird and maybe most important of all, it has a really good story with some twists and turns which, frankly, many movies lack today.
I would give it 3 1/2 out of 5.
