Battlestar Galactica: Season One

Lead by President Roslin and Commander Adama the survivors of the 12 colonies set out on their journey to find the mythical planet Earth. The Cylons are still on their heels posing a constant threat, but there are also threats and unrest brewing in other places and who's to say who is friend or foe when the Cylons can be disguised among the humans.

The great thing about Battlestar Galactica is that the focus is on the story and the characters, something that brings a great deal of realism to it all. Don't get me wrong, the visual effects that you expect in such a series is definitely there and they're great, but even that aspect of the series feels more realistic than you see in similar series. Still it's the characters and their story that makes it great, characters who's not perfect, but flawed, each in their own way with their own problems to deal with.

The DVDs also includes the mini-series that led up to the series as well as quite a lot of bonus material such as deleted scenes and eight behind the scenes featurettes.

I was very impressed by the mini-series and after watching the complete first season I'm even more impressed. This is a series that has turned out to be one of my absolute favourites. A must see, simply brilliant.
