Crusade The Complete SeriesCrusade The Complete Series has just been released on DVD. The Drakh have released a deadly virus that will wipe out all humans living on Earth in five years. Earth has been quarantined and the starship Excalibur and it's captain Matthew Gideon have been charged with the task of finding a cure. With him is a bland crew ranging from the telepath John Matheson to Dureena a member of the thieves' guild.
I'd say that Crusade The Complete series starts out quite promising and I had high hopes after the first episodes, but after seeing a few more I must admit that I understand why it got such a short life with only 13 episodes being made.
It's drafted on pretty much the same concept as Star Trek, where each episode stands on its own. However I personally didn't really feel that I got to know these characters at all, it was just too superficial to my taste. Peter Woodward as the technomage Galen was quite brilliant though and I would have liked to see him in more of the episodes.
I'm not saying it's not worth seeing, it definitely has it's moments, but I don't think it brings much new to the genre.
