Event by David Lynn Golemon

(2006-10-29)

PRESS RELEASE

Event, the first of an action-packed series by debut writer David Lynn Golemon.

What really did happen in the New Mexico desert near Roswell in the summer of 1947?  Could a UFO actually have crashed to Earth?  For nearly 60 years, that has been speculated, rumored, and in many circles, believed.  If it is fact, were there survivors?  In David Lynn Golemon’s thrilling debut novel, EVENT, not only did something crash near Roswell but it has happened again – and this time there are survivors.

Major Jack Collins leads the Event Group -- the most secretive organization in the history of the American government -- dedicated to finding out the truth of our history, be it myth, legend or hard history, and to make sure mistakes of the past are never repeated.  This new mission is tantamount to the future of our planet.  Two creatures have survived this crash: one is a being of intelligence and compassion, placed on earth to help; the other, a hideous entity with remarkable strength, intentionally brought to Earth for the sole purpose of annihilation of our species.  Collins and the Event Group must do everything in their power to discover the full meaning behind the arrival of these creatures.  Against this backdrop of earth hanging in the balance, the Event Group wages a war for the ages with our extinction one false move away.
Golemon served in the U.S. Army in Special Operations (classified).  One of the inspirations for his debut, and the Event Group at the heart of the story, stemmed from the persistent rumors in the ranks of the U.S. Army of an organization buried inside the federal government.  The Roswell “event” of 1947 remains unexplained to this day by the government leaving open speculation about whether there was in fact a crash, are the visitors hostile, and if not, why the extensive cover-up?

All this intrigue, combined with fast-paced action writing from Golemon, give this tremendous debut cache.  EVENT is a blistering rollercoaster that combines elements of “Indiana Jones,” the Roswell Incident, and Predator.
