Games - Age Of Empires III surfaces (2005-01-10) It was inevitable but with anticipation and rumour-mongering building, Ensemble Studios' RTS have released screenshots of the second sequel in their best-selling series, Age of Empires.
Set between the 16th and 19th centuries, gamers can play as one of eight empires in a scramble seeking to colonise 'new' lands and enslave populations. Obvious differences between the new game and its predecessor include improved technology from the medieval setting of the second game, better weaponary (gunpowder!!) and trading skills, and also an enhanced trading system. Battles will be bigger, offering greater flexibility and more varied locations including sea battles.
With a better graphics engine using a whole new physics system, greater choice in all options and a setting spanning 300 years, Age of Empires III will undoubtedly go down well when released in the later part of 2005.
