Christopher Priest is one of the UK's leading authors of literary science fiction, best known for his book The Prestige, later filmed with Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Hugh Jackman. His other acclaimed titles include The Affirmation, The Glamour and The Separation, carving out a reputation as one of the UK's most challenging and rewarding authors. To celebrate the release of his latest novel, The Islanders, QUAD in Derby, UK, hosts a reading with Christopher, followed by an introduced screening of The Prestige at 8:45pm.

Christopher Nolan's adaptation sees rival illusionists Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale attempting to create the greatest spectacle possible - a rivalry that will end with deadly consequences. Joined by a supporting cast including David Bowie, Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson and Andy Serkis, this superb thriller garnered two Oscar nominations and strong reviews.
