“Stargate Atlantis” became available on Amazon Prime so I started watching Season 1. The two-part season opener did a passable job of setting up the new series. I didn’t watch “Atlantis” when it originally aired, although I saw a good bit of SG-1. It provides some variety from my Star Trek re-watching, and I plan to keep going on Season 1.

Kingdom (Netflix, South Korea).
Korean period drama with zombies. Awful. Once you get over the setting, this is just the latest typical Netflix tripe with Korean special sauce (not hot, mind). A reviewer called this intelligent. Yeah, right.

Does anyone else here watch Lucifer? It's taking forever for the Netflix season to come up. I just re-watched season three on dvd to get ready for it. I'm wondering if they will back things up somehow to keep Cloe innocent and unknowing? I don't know how, but it will be a very different show if they don't. Still could be great though.

Netflix has so much product going on and they weren't planning to have Lucifer originally so I think it's taken them time to schedule it. They may not come back with all the cast consequently, as sometimes happens. They had two burn-off episodes from the season that was cancelled that they went ahead and aired in case that was it, one of which was an alternate history one and the other with Chloe knowing he's Lucifer but not really addressing it in the episode at all. I don't know if they're going to try to incorporate those or just jettison them, so we don't know really how they are going to deal with it. But there was definitely a plan when it was on the network for the next season, so they may just stick to that plan.

Just finished Russian Doll - it's certainly speculative, don't quite know which genre it fits otherwise though! I loved Dark on Netflixs -best Sci fi I've seen in years.

I’m mid-way through Season 3 of The Expanse, and it is undoubtedly the best Science Fiction TV Series in quite a while. It is a dark and gritty future, but it seems plausible. The portrayal of our characters has been getting better, and the special effects are amazing.

I’ve been reading the novels as well. While the story has diverged somewhat, they are keeping pretty close to the books on the important parts. Quite refreshing to see. I’m so glad Amazon saved the series from cancellation by SYFY.

Just released on Netflix is Love, Death & Robots, a series of animated short films, many of which cover the SF & Fantasy genre. Sonnie's Edge, Zima Blue and Beyond the Aquila Rift are based on Peter F Hamilton and Alastair Reynolds stories - I watched Zima Blue tonight and it was pretty cool.

We watched the first two yesterday. Like an anthology of short stories, showcasing talent from wonderfully diverse creators. Really enjoyed what we've seen so far and looking forward to the rest of the collection!

Reminds me very much of the Animatrix that was released with The Matrix series of films. I have gained extra points from the younger members of the Hobbit household for pointing out that I know the Reynolds & Hamilton stories already.

Amazon just added Farscape, to Prime Video so I figured why not watch it? It has been a long time since I saw any of it. Doctor Who won’t be back for a year, and Amazon isn’t getting new seasons of The Expanse out very quickly, So I may as well revisit some of the classics. I am reminded how nifty the practical effects and muppets are, and how basic the CGI was. Still a good show though...

I've been watching Star Trek: Enterprise on Netflix. I remember watching it when it was broadcast, but didn't realize I had started somewhere around the beginning of the third season. I think I prefer the first two seasons, but I'll wait to make up my mind after I've gone all the way through three. I will definitely not watch the last episode, with the cast from Next Generation. I remember how unbelievably awful that was.

I saw that when it first came out. Funny, I hadn't thought it was speculative, but of course it is. I liked it, too, but I thought the ending was a little flat. But definitely worth the watch.

Finished Love Death & Robots. The first two episodes are among the best, but they were consistently at least somewhat entertaining. Helping Hand I'm likely to remember for a long while.

Sadly, my watching of “Stargate Atlantis” has been curtailed by Amazon. It has been inexplicably removed from Prime, while all of “Stargate SG-1” and two of the three movies remain. It remains available for purchase, of course, but I don’t like it quite that much. Made it more than halfway through Season 1, and was beginning to enjoy it. Alas, this is the bane of streaming services...

It seems that I can check out the DVDs and Blu-Rays from my local library system if I want to continue. I guess I’ll think about that. In the meantime Amazon has added “Farscape” for me instead. Amazon giveth, Amazon taketh away...
