RotK will need to wait...TTT was nearly 4.5 hours (264 minutes), lol.

The Mutations aka The Freakmaker ( d. Jack Cardiff )
Watched a multi region dvd import English print . Slightly confusing as the case calls the film Das Labor Des Grauens !
A bizarre sleazy exploitationer which I would have put down as a Pete Walker film if I hadn't known better . Interesting to see Tom Baker pre - Dr Who . Donald Pleasance is the mad scientist and does his usual Donald Pleasance stuff . Always found him to be a one - dimensional actor .
( Earlier this week I'd bought the newly released soundtrack LP record by Basil Kirchin and was prompted to re-watch the movie )
@randy . Nice appraisal . Yeah , the bath scene was just completely gratuitous .I had some criticisms when I watched this a few years ago. First, I normally like Pleasence, but I felt he was sleep-walking through this one. Second, the young hero, scholarship student wasn't young and looked more like a mid-30s body builder/bouncer -- not a bad actor for an action role, but the script maybe needed to justify that actor. And last, there's a scene late where the heroine calls the hero for help, as though she's nervous about being watched, then while waiting for him takes a bath. Wait -- what? Oh, yeah, it's Julie Ege, she's beautiful, and we need a totally unnecessary topless scene.
Did like seeing Michael Dunn in a sympathetic role, though.
