Two or three of the above editors wanted a certain novella in their Year's Best anthologies; however, they were informed that that novella was going to be reprinted in a limited edition by Subterranean Press, and would consequently be unavailable for other anthologies, even for Year's Best! Ironically, due to this novella being a finalist for the Locus Award, it has been put up for free reading and download on Subterranean Press's own website! So here it is:
