Hi everyone,
I'm a long time lurker and had only a couple of posts here, but I'm being so blown away at the moment.... Mind, I'm only 46% through it, but I just had to make a recommendation for this wonderful book.
A fantasy set in the modern day, about some people taken as kids to a kind of a school (library) where they grow up learning magic. Sounds familiar? After just a few pages you see it's nothing remotely familiar, and not like he's trying hard to reverse tropes for the sake of it, but this guy has his own story to tell. Almost halfway through I have zero idea what is about to happen (unlike most fantasy out there), but I have full confidence it won't dissapoint (actually expecting to be even more delighted). Real good storytelling, writing, characters, story sets right off, doesn't need 500 page count just to get to the point of starting going somewhere.
Hm, I'd wanted to make some comparisons to other books and authors, but I just realized I dont want to start a debate or a flaming war, just want some heads to turn towards this hidden gem.
