Glurblyburbly, she's nice. It's a nice cover, but I think it might look a little too... "dark fantasy" (As in smoochy smoochy werewolves) than Abercrombie-esque.
it reminds me of the slave chick from the first law trilogy. ferro was her name? i think you're right though. but don't tell me who it is, i'm still on before they are hanged. it's so awesome!
There's actually a badass female in First Law? I never knew that. From the way everyone was 'IT'S REALISM AND WOMEN SUCK AND SHOULD DO NOTHING,' and only mentioned Logen and male warriors, I didn't expect there to be. xD
BSC isn't part of the trilogy, but Monza is probably my favorite Abercrombie character. And I don't think that quip represents Abercrombie's books at all.
Ahhh. There's 2 stand alones isn't there? I see. I always get them mixed up. I'm so happy the quip doesn't! x3

I haven't seen a single person say "women suck and should do nothing" in reference to Abercrombie's books. In fact, I believe there's at least one kick-ass woman character in each and every one of his books.
yeah, i haven't read his latest 3 books, but ferro maljinn is awesome! i really like ardee aswell. but anyway, back on topic.
It was an over-stereotyped (hence the caps) reference to the way some people act about realism in general, actually. Glad to hear there's some good females in his books though as I've just began The Blade Itself and it seems really great.
Love this cover! Although it looks better in your hands than in this pic. I love this one too! Have heard many people say they dislike it, I hope they refer to the US version rather than this one. I love the colour scheme, and it caught my eye in Waterstones, I bought it and that lead me to subscribe to this site! These may have been mentioned before but I'm not trawling through 30-odd pages to find out! Barring all the old covers, and the first new cover, I LOVE the artwork for the entire Adrian Tchaikovsky Shadows of The Apt series, my favourite 2 being this one: and this one in it's book form: They say don't judge a book by its cover but how can you not when the art is this good?
Raz: Are those the Pyr editions? I assume so since they don't match the UK ones. I think I'd keep buying these books for the cover art even if I hated the insides.... EDIT: Well, I say that, but they don't really look like the Pyr ones....
They're the UK ones. Pyr isn't that far along (There's no Pyr edition of The Sea Watch). The covers changed style after the initial tetralogy in favour of 'fuller' covers. So, instead of the Hobb-esque figure under the title, they're more akin to the Pyr covers in that they're more like scenes.
Okay. I guess I'd only seen the UK covers of the first 4. Maybe they'll share art now since those UK covers are by the same artist that Pyr has been using for the series.
All the covers have the same artist Jon Sullivan has done the covers for all of both the Pyr and Tor UK editions.
Indeed they are Tor versions rather than Pyr versions. Jon Sullivan's website is amazing ( well, the site is pretty poor but the artwork is incredible, I am jealous of his talent). You can view his artwork in various galleries on his site: http://www.jonsullivanart.com
