Even today the Discovery looks amazing . From ive read when did they did sequel 2010 A Space Odyssey .T The had to build a new model because original Discovery model had been scraped . They did a very impressive job of recreating it. In tv series Space 1999 there some ships that variants on that design. This is not surprising given that Brian Johnson created the models for both.

Actually, Space 1999's Eagle is a good shout - saw 2 episodes at a cinema on Sunday and the models still look great!;
