This will be a very short update, since I don’t have much in the way of book news for you. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been writing, of course!
The Kinshield Saga: The Complete Series is now available at all the usual ebook outlets. It contains all four books in the Kinshield fantasy series, plus the novella Sole Sacrifice, which tells Sithral Tyr’s story. It might seem steep at $9.99, but it’s a savings of almost $2 off the combined price of the three non-free ebooks. If you have friends or family members who enjoy heroic fantasy, many ebook retailers have a gifting option.
A Piper at the Gates of Dawn
is the tentative title for my next fantasy novel, book 1 of a new 2- or 3-book series. It’s about a woman who becomes a magic-wielding, flute-playing mercenary out to right the wrongs she discovers. That’s all I’ll say about it for now, but I’m excited about the story. I’ve only started outlining and world/character building, so don’t look for it until around summer 2014. I’ll update you more in my next newsletter.
A change of pace
I’ve been working on a book in a different genre than my usual fantasy and science fiction. Most of you won’t be interested—it’s a contemporary romance—but if you are, you can find more info at http://alanehudson.wordpress.
Surprisingly, writing something different has sort of reset my brain so that ideas for APGD are starting to flow much more quickly and easily! It was fun to switch gears for a bit, but I’m eager to return “home” to fantasy and science fiction!
The Lies Dragons Tell
As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I’m co-writing a fantasy novel with India Drummond, author of the Caledonia Fae urban fantasy series. We both put the outlining and world/character building of this book on hold while we worked on our independent projects, but now that my romance novel is nearly finished, I’ll have more time to devote to our joint project. We plan to have it ready for a Dec 2014 release.
