THE SHELL COLLECTOR is a blend of mystery, romance, and environmental disaster. It’s the story of our rising oceans; it takes place in a future where seashells are so rare that people pay a fortune for a prized specimen.

Maya Walsh is one such collector. As a writer for the Times, Maya is working on a series of pieces about the oil magnates who profited from the rising seas. One of them is Ness Wilde, the world’s foremost collector and CEO of Shell Oil. Maya blames him for ruining her world. Now she’s out to destroy his.

A note from the author:

Before I started writing, I lived and worked on boats. I spent ten years of my life at sea. THE SHELL COLLECTOR is my homage to the ocean.

Every week, I see another story that has me fearing for the future of the sea. Just this morning, there was an article in the Washington Post about an island on the East Coast that will be the first to disappear as sea levels rise. And in Miami, we are seeing streets flood during the highest of tides. They didn’t use to.
