What games are you playing?

Bouncing around between Romance of the 3 Kingdoms 12 (which apparently is slightly more addictive that heroin to me) and a bunch of even older games I got off Wii shop channel like Geghis Khan II, Ogre Battle etc. I picked up the FF4 sequel off shop channel but I haven't played it much. Note for future final fantasy sequels, if you're going to continue an FF story into another game and have characters from the first game present and playable, don't dog them out by making them level 14 losers. Give me a break. These crummy monsters attack Baron and King Cecil gets ready to fight, I'm like, "Okay this should take about 5 minutes" then he's barely winning fights. WTF?

Playing some Dragon Age to get as much done before Awakening unlocks tonight.

Leliana has Schmooples, my character got schmooches from Leliana and I'm using the schwartz to kill everything.

:D

I have purchased on the cheap Bayonetta and will explore once I've managed to finish ODST on Legendary, could be a while :D

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening for the PC.
I've put ~1.5hrs into it so far, and... I don't know. I really don't. It's improved on Origins in that you get your healer near enough straight away, and I'm really glad they did that. But it's just... Overwhelming at first. If anyone here has played NWN2 to completion, this is like being thrown in at the part where you have your castle.
Also, if you use a non-completed save, it decides what you did or didn't do in Origins. I'm going to do my standard quick-let's-finish-this run first on Serdira, and then I think I'm going to go back and finish Origins with her and do a second run once I understand Awakening better and what I need to do, and I'd be wiser to the choices I made.
It's familiar yet different, but I have to say it's given me a few chuckles so far and I'm maybe a sixth of the way into it, if that.

Apologies for the double post, but I've now spent around another 7hrs in the game (i.e. Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening). I'll put my comments in a spoiler box.

I'm enjoying it more than I thought but maybe less than I should. In some ways it really has improved over Origins. The companions I've found so far (I think I have all but Justice) are really interesting but I think they seem that way because they're fresh and you're not bogged down with a lot of conversation time with them. In a way that's good, but on the other hand I'd really like to get to know Sigrun better (*wistful sigh*) and the lack of romance is a bit of a shame. Anders and Sigrun, aswell as possibly Velanna and Nathaniel, seem like they could easily be expanded to allow that to happen. I didn't look into Nathaniel much but visually he looks like he could be a bit of a whiny, grumpy sod but with him as a staple character in my party, he's grown on me and is quite bearable.
I've done a bunch of the sidequests (note: not all of them) so far and a nice chunk of the main story. I don't know exactly how far I am into it, but I assume I'm getting close to the end of the second third (similar to how you had 4 places in Origins and then Denerim/Archdemon/running everywhere counted as the fifth and final). Sadly they've added another Fade "level" but it's nowhere near as bad as the Circle Tower one was so far (this is where I currently am in Awakening).
Will hopefully finish it tomorrow after I've watched Legend of the Seeker

Once I'm done with Awakening's first run, I'm probably going to play a bit of NWN2 or the Witcher until Tuesday when ME2 DLC drops, which I'll quickly run through and then put that on hold until the next piece of DLC (Kasumi Goto) drops in early April, and then I'll finish that run.

Playing Dante's Inferno, seemed like they mutated the original story and went for a sexually charged and gorefest theme in order to sell some copies. Game play is okay nothing to write home about and a direct rip off to Gods of War. The button mashing during cut scenes is boring and seems like if you don't do it quickly you are screwed.
Overall impressions are that it is good but, that once completed will more than likely begin to collect dust as I doubt it has any real replay value at all.

I am listening my fav singer "Bob dilon". Beatles and Back Stree Boys are also my fav.

Assassins Creed 2 - much better than the first, greater variety, less glitches and even a slight resources management bit. That said fighting is still awkward, they've added plenty of weapons but don't appear to have altered the mechanics much. Also the free running still feels a touch too sensitive but I can live with them because I'm enjoying it and I got through the first :)

That's disappointing. I was hoping to get it used once the price dropped a bit.

Got myself a copy of Heavy Rain today. Haven't started it yet, but I'm excited. I really liked Indigo Prophecy, so I have high hopes. It's gotten great reviews, so we'll see.

Can I be slightly envious? Apparently PC gamers were going to get Heavy Rain but they changed their mind. It does look kinda interesting and different.

I've been playing Torchlight and King's Bounty: Armored Princess, with a little bit of Left 4 Dead 1 + 2 mixed in.

I'll be interested to hear your impressions. This game has been on my radar for a while, but it seems way different from anything I've played before, so I'm a bit reserved about it.

Has anyone played Just Cause 2? This one looks like a lot of fun.

I've mostly been playing my "go-to" game: Fifa 10...I never get sick of playing soccer games.

It is pretty different from your standard adventure game. It's supposed to be a cinematic experience. . . So, really, you just control your character as they go through a scripted movie. You have decisions to make that cause the movie to go down paths. It's a lot of pressing X or triangle. Or moving your joy stick in different patterns. They can actually get pretty complicated.

And it's very puzzle-like. You have to like puzzle games. The puzzles aren't really hard, but you have to do certain things in order to trigger certain events. You also really have to pay attention to what's going on. Be very observant. Pay attention to anything that can be a clue (the colour of ppl's hair, their clothes, cars, etc). And also, when things start to happen (and you know when they do), don't take your eyes off the T.V., 'cos if you do, you might miss the fact that you were supposed to press a button and now you're lying flat on your ass. (That actually hasn't happened, but it's that sort of thing)

I'm really liking it so far. It's gotten a little scary at times too. (Though, I'll admit, I'm a huge wuss.) Graphics are awesome. Storyline is pretty damn interesting.

Like I said, I was a big fan of Indigo Prophecy (Or Farenheit as it was known in Europe), so I knew what to expect going into this game. If you don't wanna shell out the cash for it yet (I bought it used, and with tax it still cost me $61 CAD), and you can find it, try out Indigo Prophecy. I played it on original Xbox, but it's also for PC and you can download it. There are two versions of it. The North American and the European. The European is uncut, but the North American one had an interactive sex scene removed. (Though, in Heavy Rain, there's boobies and bums. And shower scenes. I was pretty surprised, actually.) Apparently, you can now get the "director's cut", on-line.

Hey NickeeCoco-

Thanks for the response. Heavy Rain sounds like a really cool game, but I'm not so sure it is for me. I am interested though, so I may just wait a while and pick it up used.

I played some Neverwinter Nights 2 OC earlier.
This'll be my second playthrough, but I'm not sure about my character's voice.

I'm Playing Tiger Woods '10 gotta get the season out of the way so when TW '11 comes around I am all set to go.

I have completed Assassins Creed 2 with mixed feelings. I thought it started and finished strongly but there's still quite a bit of repetition inbetween. The end sequence is hugely frustrating, like Gears of War it sets up the next game without a real sense of closure for this one. I liked most of the new elements but I'd like to see them build on the weapon variation, estate management and if possible establish a more complex fighting system. Also refining the notoriety meter would be a bonus, it's still imo a little too sensitive. The game is also too easy for the most part, except some of the Glyph puzzles which were genuinely tough. An increasing difficulty curve would be beneficial.

I've (finally) started on Tomb Raider: Underworld.
I've gotten bored of Torchlight for now (it's insanely repetetive) and I'm taking a break from Armored Princess.
So far I'm impressed but not overly so. The camera is a bit annoying (although I must say I don't mind a screenful of Lara's ladybumps) and the controls are all over the place (so I might have to remap them later), but I'll happily continue. That reminds me, I need to install Legend at some point.

I finished the game a while ago and I think you nailed it on the head as to what needs to be refined for the next installment. The biggest problem that I have is that once you have the counter attack move the game is far to easy. A new fighting system would be a great improvement. Of course you would not have to fight quite as much if the notoriety meter was not as sensitive as you stated above.
