What games are you playing?

I will save Bulletstorm next as it is too similar a game to Homefront.
Not sure about that, Durzo. Bulletstorm is a completely ridiculous over-the-top blow-everything-and-their-mother-to-hell game which rewards you for being 'creative' (i.e. immature) with your shots. Oh, and it has Steve Blum and Jennifer Hale doing voices, so it's awesome for that alone.

Oh, and Dragon Age 2 is roughly a 40hr game. Was very surprised at how quickly people were finishing it.

I'm wondering if they're actually completing all the quests. There's main quests, companion quests, secondary quests and side quests.

AFAIK, but even if not it is a much shorter game than Origins was (Confirmed by BioWare themselves). It's supposedly closer to Mass Effect 2's length (~25-30hrs for all quests, 40 at a stretch), so you generally wouldn't be spending upwards of 50hrs on DA2, at least not at this point with limited DLC options.

As far as I know...

Ah. See, while I've been surfing the net since it's been available in my town ('92, I believe), I've never gotten into the abbreviation/acronym thing. I refuse to text, so that probably has something to do with it as well.

---

So I'm facing a High Dragon right now with its swarms of dragonlings and dragons. Down to one party member, only a miniscule amount left on the High Dragon's health bar. I've got 27 health potions, I should be good. . . Except that none of my hits on the dragon do any damage!!!

25 minutes of the hit and run around in circles routine (after fifteen minutes of epic battling) and nothing. Nothing! Frustration has set in.

I played the demo of Bulletstorm. It was fine and you are absolutely right on it being over the top on death. I am okay with that as long as the campaign is longer than the 3hrs that Homefront was. I am still peeved over that whole debacle. Anyway, Dragon Age 2 will be played at some point. I got a bunch of freebies before the game even arrived with some emails from Bioware but I doubt I will start out with them. Majin is turning out to be a lot of fun but it shouldn't require too much time to finish and then I can turn my attention to DA2.

I started it last night, and I'm not sure what length we're looking at, but I can't imagine it being shorter than 3hrs. I'm guessing it's going to be the standard 6hrs (As of Act 2 Part 1, the levels are getting longer).

Oh man, Durzo, just wait until you get skillshots. You will be giggling and laughing like a madman.

Apologies for double posting, but it's an update.

So, Durzo, I'm further into Bulletstorm now. Act 5 (Can't remember if it's Part 1 or 2) and I'm guessing I've been playing for about 3-4 hours. Got one or two more parts of this Act to do (Roughly), and then another two acts to go through, so I'm going to guestimate it at being around 5-6 hours, likely longer on higher difficulties.

Absolutely loving it, though, and I've been giggling like an idiot for most of it :D

I've been playing the World of Tanks beta and it's really good, especially for a free mmo type dealy.

I've been tossing up whether to get Bulletstorm in case it's just too much of a shoot em up fest that gets boring after a while. I generally like my shooters to have a bit of tactics and variety.

Judging by you're "giggling like an idiot" comment Cheerwell I gather it's mainly constant guns? :) Maybe I should try the demo too...

My gaming time has been divided equally between Minecraft, Crysis 2, and Shift 2 this week. Loving them all. Crysis 2 is the most fun I've had with an FPS in a good few years. It's suitably sci-fi enough to distance itself from all those modern warfare games. Shift 2 is fantastic fun playing online with friends - no two ways about it.

I've also given Dragon Age 2 a whirl recently - but I just don't have the will to continue playing it.

I am around act 3 of bulletstorm and it is a lot of fun, a little repetitive but overall what more can you expect from a shooter. Skill shots are fun. Not long ago I had control of a robot dinosaur and that was a little long in the tooth but otherwise it is an enjoyable game. They are trying something knew and it works, not sure about replay ability but I am hooked and waiting to see it through to the end.

On the contrary, there's nothing new about Bulletstorm. It's quite literally a cross between Unreal Tournament and Painkiller (Which, funnily enough, are games which were put out by Epic Games and People Can Fly respectively).

Westsiyeed; There are tactics, though, and there's a lot of variety. I think there's something like 120 skillshots (Could be wrong), about 7 weapons (You can only carry 3 at once, and one of them is fixed). The length is pretty much perfect, too, as it looks like it's going to end before it gets old.

I'm on Act 6 Part... 2, I think. Maybe 3. Near the end :(

picked up crysis2 and resident evil 5. I'm only about an hour into crysis. visually it's pretty great running through a demolished new york.

Just finished Dragon Age II. While it had a self contained story, it really left off at a cliffhanger of an overarching plot. It'll be interesting to see how this goes.

Cool, I think I will get it...after Crysis 2 which should be in the mail. :)

Ironically Crysis 2 just arrived Fedex today from play-asia. So, I need to finish up Bulletstorm ASAP to get moving on Crysis.
