Jan-Jun 2018 Novelette/Novella Contest Voting Thread

Now I'm not even sure which of my two posts you were responding to. I was assuming it was the first, but perhaps my reading comprehension is being called into question.

Sorry, just being silly. A confusing attempt at pointing out the confusion and the turmoil of tied votes.... :D
I'll go back to bed now... :)

If I read @R.J. comment correctly he flubbed his vote and you've won this handily. :)
I think he meant he forgot to register his vote, then he remembered around the same time that Kenny voted so I think the vote tally is right.

But to make it fair, if we don't get another voter, I was thinking we could award victory to the SFFWorld member who has;

a. joined the forum first.
OR
b. has contributed the most mesages to the forum
OR
c. has recieved the most likes for their contributions
OR,
d. has gotten the most trophy points.

Which metric do you think we should use? :cool:

Yes, that....

I suggest the metric have something to do with the actual contest.
1) Like the member who introduced it.
2) The member who has kept it going
3) The member who has contributed the most entries.
4) The member who has contributed the most messages.

That would be cool.

I guess we can't use the metric of;

a. who is trying to weasel out of starting the next contest the least.

fooey... you got me... If we don't get another voter by closing.... I'll start the next contest thread.

congrats on tieing for first there, @Facing. Well deserved win.

I Love you guys!
I promise to read and vote even if not actually participate. :)
I appreciate that. I hope you will also give some thought to trying to write a novelette and use the next contest thread as a place to keep us all updated on your efforts even if not attempting a contest entry.

Orright, the new contest thread is up here.

The theme is, "Counter Culture," ... I got the idea from one of KatG's comments where she mentioned a genre of fiction called, "Splatterpunk." I was going to make Splatterpunk the theme until I looked it up and found that it was, " a literary genre characterized by the explicit description of horrific, violent, or pornographic scenes."
So... I took a small step away from that... rightly or wrongly.

''Counter Culture" - The stuff growing on my kitchen counter.

there's an easy test for that.
if it looks smells and tastes like mould... you must first grind it into a fine powder and inject it intravenously before you can be 1000% certain.
