Last Movie You Watched - 2020

I believe so: and was so successful he made the sequel.

I am conflicted with Sellers - I used to love his movies when I was younger, but as an adult, when I hear about what sort've person he was, it puts me off his films a bit.

One of the reasons I avoid 'celeb' gossip and auto/biographies of people that go into anything other than the subjects' work.

Fatman
Santa Claus must contend with a hitman sent from a disappointed child.

Amazing nobody came up with this idea before. Will attempt to watch this later tonight.

"The poetic truth of black victimization had become their identity."

I know I have mentioned this one in the past but I was moving and reorganizing my DVD BlueRay collection and making black comedy a subsection and right after I shelved The Loved One I put this on as I worked. not quite a black comedy perhaps dark grey it gave me some good laughs... does anyone else recall it? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058743/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_29

Since it showed up on Amazon Prime, I decided to watch the latest installment in the Terminator franchise: Terminator Dark Fate. My initial reactions are that it is better than recent installments, while not fully realizing the magic of the first few films.

It of course benefits from having both Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton both reprising their classic roles as a T-800 and Sara Conner. We also have new blood in the form of Grace, an augmented human (played by Mackenzie Davis) must protect Dani Ramos (played by Natalia Reyes) from an advanced Terminator type Rev-9 (played by Gabriel Luna).

This film takes place in an alternate timeline that follows in the events of Terminator 2: Judgement Day. In this timeline, due to the actions of Sara Connor and a T-800 sent back, Skynet never develops. Instead another defense computer network known as Legion rises to destroy mankind. The young Dani Ramos has an important role in opposing the forces of this future machine, so it determines to send a Terminator into the past to eliminate her. Familiar plot, but it’s what the Terminator films are all about.

It’s watchable, and has some impressive action and special effects. Is it the reboot that the franchise needed? Only time will tell...

I liked Paul as well and felt the reviews were rather unfair

Terrific documentary of 1hr 35 mins on one of my favourite artists, Chesley Bonestell. I believe that it is available as a Bluray from Walmart in the US, but here I found it for free on Amazon Prime here in the UK.

I saw this book at the library when it came out at the turn of the century
Beautiful but look at the current price wish I had bought it back then though it was expensive then As Best as I recall

Brilliant. Very pleased you were able to see it, guys.

Watching it on a big television it was lovely to see some of the paintings on a huge scale. (I have that book, Windy.) I also have prints of Saturn from Titan, Mercury and a print on canvas of the Mars expedition picture.

One of my things I'd most like to do is to visit a gallery of his work. One day, one day! :D Love his work.

It was interesting to hear details of his life, although some of the commentators were a little "Gosh...wow!" in their enthusiasms.

I thought it was amusing for a man who was forced to leave college because of poor Maths grades could use Maths to such great effect in his paintings! :)

Terminator Dark Fate.

I agree, it is quite good.

Chesley Bonestell: A Brush With the Future ... also available in the US on the free service TUBI

Tubi is apparently also available here in Oz - I'll check it out.

Skyfire (2019) Rich people build fancy resort next to active volcano. This turns out to be a bad idea. High level suspension of disbelief required, but entertaining enough. Mixed English and Chinese dialogue, with subtitles available.

I've tried to watch this a few times now, and it just doesn't work for me.
I can appreciate that. I thought I mightn't finish at first, suspension of disbelief issues, but it became cohesive in the end. I had nothing better to do being tired between walking the dog for the last time and going to bed.
