Not sure if anyone has read this old fantasy series by the late Louise Cooper. But The Initiate, The Outcast, The Master were books that kind of saved my soul back when I stumbled upon them in second-hand book shop.

I felt I could identify with Tarod's struggles of finding his fit in the world whilst holding back on being OP and levelling-up to this fearsome power. Well, actually not the levelling up to fearsome powers bit. But certainly the struggles of being a complex creature and something of an outsider.

These books are my treasures on my bookshelf. I'm only sad that Louise is no longer around to write more stories. I'm glad she could leave behind a legacy of sorts.

I'm afraid that I haven't read a lot of Cooper, but she was very well known, from the British crowd. She managed to have quite a lot of works out before her untimely passing.

I was able to read some of her Indigo saga. Time Master Series is the one I like the most.

They were a favorite of mine back in the day. I've been meaning to revisit them, but haven't gotten around to it.

Did you read the sequel trilogy? I never got to that.

Eclipse, Moonset...? No, not yet, but I do have them. I was so lucky at the secondhand place that they had a lot more of her works when I returned.

That's the prequel series. I was thinking of "Chaos Gate," starting with The Deceiver.
