Equilibrium was a good movie, came out around the same time of the Matrix so it was overlooked.

Definitely. It was a very good idea, and i loved the dark, hopeless look and ambience of the film. Not to mention, it's yet another movie where Sean Bean's character dies. Actors are supposed to love pretending to die though.
