The first 4 Darktower books, and Salem's Lot are my favorite of the King novel's i've read so far.

The multiple settings, especially the rundown western sci-fi of Roland's world, the mystery, and the different but fun characters really made the first half of the DT special. Book 5 kinda killed it for me though, that whole book should have been a chapter or two, no more.

Salem's Lot was one of the first King novel's i've read, and it pretty much solidified King as an author that i enjoy.

I too enjoyed Cell very much. It was like The Stand on a miniature scale. It also reminded me of 28 Days Later, because the "zombies" weren't really zombies at all but these humans reverted to savage beings.

that's good to hear, i bought it on a whim one day not knowing if it was any good.

Yeah absolutely. There wasn't really much of a point to the entire thing. On the opposite end of this, I think Wolves of the Calla may be my least favorite Stephen King book.

M-O-O-N That spells Moon

That si the best mo vie I have yet tor ead it.. I have been told the book is a lot better thanthe movie and the movie is awsome

I loved the Talisman when I read it years ago.

Other books by King I really enjoyed were Insomnia, The Shining and Needful Things. IT would have been up there but for the ending.

I have read all but the last half of the last book of the Dark Tower and in parts it was a chore to get through, parts were fab though. Not read the Stand yet and have Salmens Lot and Lisey's Story in my pile tbr.

As for his movies I think the best adaptations are Misery, Shawshank, Stand By Me and The Shining. The Green Mile was ok but the bit at the end could have been left out. Pet Semetary and IT just made me laugh all the way through, now where nere the scary atmosphere of the books.

i actually voted for "other," more specifically, lisey's story. i loved the characterization in this book, and found it to be better than any other work by king, and that includes the stand. that being said, i've only read 8 books by king or so, and he's got quite a bit.

What was it about the last 3 books that changed so drastically? I still wonder how different his story would have turned out had he not had his accident.

My favorite King book as well, that and Christine.

Hi all,noob here,first post.
I'm an avid reader of Kings novels and thoroughly enjoyed 'most' of them. The Stand is certainly a great read as is Misery,Needful Things,Salems Lot,Cell and a few others too. I couldn't get into The Dark Towers although my younger bro insists on me reading it,maybe I'll eventually give it a go. I'm surprised from the previous posts here that Geralds Game didn't get a mention at all.I really enjoyed this book especially the
helplessness/paranoia/terror atmos he creates in this bizzare story.I thought he executed it well and really had me on the edge from start to finish.Quite surprised this hasn't been opted for a motion picture imo?

btw Like this site;)
