Book Cover

The book is only available online, and no, unfortunately, I did not get paid. It was just a contest. Even still, it's great to have some stuff in print. And who knows, maybe one day I'll con someone into paying me for this stuff.

Very good Bear.

It expressed emotion to me. Kind of like" life" the journey we must all travel. Life just comes at you in all it's splendor and we must face it.

I rather doubt that you were looking for that type of response.

Are aspects of the short stories depicted in the picture?

BF

Thanks for checking it out, Briar Flea. And any response people have to art is valid. It's the variety of those responses that makes art, in any form, so special.

The stories in the book are a very mixed bag. The only requirement for submissions were that they remain under five thousand words. Subject matter was entirely up to the authors. So there's a lot of variety in it, which something I'm a big fan of. I'm proud to have my name attached to it.

Thanks again for taking a peek.

very nice, as usual I guess ;).. what did you use to paint it ?

and what's with them m-thingy birdlike destroyers of beauty? they kinda move the focus away for the cool stuff

WOW!!

Very surreal!!
This picture's excellent, especially for a bear!:) Tell me, did you do the picture when you were hybernating in your cave, or did you do it when you were out by the river catching fish? :D

Thanks for checking it out, you two.

I painted this with acrylics, via a mix of fingers and brush. As for the little M-birds, I like to have a little sense of humor in everything I do. If it's too serious, I always end up hating it.

And I painted this in a river catching fish, Zsinj. I'm talented that way. :)

I love it, Bear. Surreal art has always appealed to me.

The bright acrylics behind the black figure (is it ink, or acrylic too?) is a striking and interesting contrast.

I can honestly say that if I saw this book in a store I would think, "looks interesting" and pick it up to flip through.

Do you have any other work to show us?

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. I'm in the middle of recording a cd at the moment, but when I'm finished, it's right back to the painting board. I'm booked for the cover of the websites next anthology.

And Mira, the figure was actually done with a very heavy pencil and some charcoal. And I was aiming for contrast, which is why I went with those cotton candy colors. It was a bit of a risk, but I thought it came out well.

I hope to have some more paintings up soon. But for those who haven't seen them, here's a few more pages of some stuff, old and new:

There are two pages of stuff there, for those how haven't already seen it. Most recent ones are on page two.

Wow, really nice stuff Bear. Seriously. I like the style alot, the book cover has great colors, and the other ones are a really neat style... can't quite place my finger on it. Almost urban with a mix of beetlejuice. Why isn't one of those your Avatar?
