Any thoughts? Predictions?

Thanks for that, my Amazon wishlist just got a lot longer!

I've only read two of the books listed! :(

I really have some catching up to do it seems. I probably have a couple of them somewhere around the house, though. And I assume you'll post the winners, so I'll buy them too. Assuming Scott Lynch doesn't win, cause I've read that.

I'd tried Dusk by Tim Lebbon, but dropped it. Somehow neither settings, nor protagonists had not touched me.

I didn't care for Dusk either, but I didn't really give it a fair shot (five or six pages, maybe). I've read some of Lebbon's novellas though, and liked them very much. Totally different from Dusk.

I thought the Lynch book was a bit light, but that's my problem, preferring darker stuff.

Congratulations to everyone!

I notice Gollancz has three in the short list again, just like they did at the BSFA awards this Easter. They got a 1-2 there. Jon Courtney Grimwood for End of the World Blues, and M. John Harrision for Nova Swing. ( I wanted the Last Witchfinder by James Morrow to win, lol)

Sad that Joe Abercrombie's The Blade Itself, and Winterbirth by Brian Ruckley didn't make it. Least Chaz Brenchley is there. (One out of my three choices made it lol ;) It was so hard only being able to vote for three, there were some super books on the list ) Though I suspect Scott Lynch will win, he is riding the creast of the wave at present, with both Lies and Red Skies doing well.
