I find a lot of books on the market stalls, the cheapest I have bought was an Inspector Morse omnibus for 40p. I also haunt a lot of charity shops, looking for good bargains.

I am a member of quite a few book clubs, recently I took up the suggestion of one of our more 'devious' members... I cancelled my subscription to World Books, and then used one of the adverts in the Sunday press to rejoin, taking advantage of their introductory offer, I got Wilbur Smith's Warlock for 1p !!!!

and a collection of Peter Straub short stories for 10p.

I often go to the Library Discard sales. They have them about every 6 months or so. I've got heaps of books here for 10-20 cents (Australian) - depends on who's adding up and how well they know me. Of course, they're not in pristine condition but they're great for books that you might just enjoy and not really absolutely love.

I also picked up A Game of Thrones for $2 from a cheapie table at a bookstore and didn't realize at the time what a treat I was in for - and what a bargain I'd got.

500 drahmas in an old store on the island of Antiparos.

[about]400 drahmas = 1 dollar

free out of the box before church fete and from the church op-shop. but it generally means not many good ones. there's a few though.
