Dan Abnett and Gaunt's Ghosts

Hi, I was just wondering if there were any Gaunt's Ghosts fans here? It's military science fiction set in the Warhammer 40k world, and is probably my favorite book series ever. Not many seem to mention it however, sadly!

If you've read them, what's your favorite novel, who's your favorite character? It is hard for me to choose, so many good novels and characters, but one of the minor ones called Bonin is my favorite character. Guns of Tanith is probably my favorite book, with small groups parachuting into enemy held cities. Pretty tense stuff.

I recommend them.

Never got around to reading Dan Abnett. Looked at Gaunt's Ghosts, but could never figure out which book was the start of the story.

The first one is First and Only.

If you want to read them in story arcs, and in omnibus form, you've got it set out like this (you can buy them in omnibus form in their arcs):

The Founding (First 3 books, not the best of the series but book three, Necropolis, really sets the tone for the future books.)

The Saint (the next 4 books) - my personal favorite arc.

The Lost (4 books) - Really good!

The Victory (next 4 books) - also really good

The veryWarhammer book I picked was the Eisenhorn Omnibus with low expection. I was shocked by just great it was . !

Then I picked up Guants Ghosts and that too quite stunningly great !
