Fantasy Reading in October 2014

And I've finished another book: Sworn in Steel by Douglas Hulick (the sequel to Among Thieves). I liked Among Thieves, but I really loved this one. Another action-packed read. Gritty without overdoing it. Characters you want to root for even though they're not always so nice.

I loved Lamb. Even the title brings me a chuckle. It's silly and serious and for me, very touching. But, yeah. It's not going to make everyone laugh, but that's ok.
Exactly, Davis: see what I mean?

Finished Retribution Falls by Chris Wooding. I was completely blown away by this book.
Think I've been quoted on that one, Ryan, depending on what edition you have... but yeah, loved it.

Well, I finished up Lamb. Overall, I enjoyed the book, and felt like I was warming up to Moore's style of humor by the end. My biggest gripe with the book is that the characters never felt all that fleshed out. He leaned too heavily on the assumption that readers would already have notions of many of the characters in their head, and the other characters felt too one-dimensional.

Next up, I'll be doing some manuscript reading of a friend's latest work. Then, back into some fantasy... not sure what though.
