I am half way through A Storm of Swords and I am in total awe of this series. I started during the Christmas break and now I just can't stop. Always Eddings and Feist will hold a special place in my heart, but Martin has taken the top spot. The story, the people, the pure depth of it is magnificent!

I found this series from this site and I would just like to thank each and every one of you for showing me the light.

Another convert! Hey Watch...once your done reading Storm of Swords go check out a few books on the War of the Roses from the Library. I have to admit, at first it shocked me how blatantly obvious Martin was in his adaptation of that historical time period when the Yorks and Lancasters fought for control of the English throne, but then I re-read the series armed with some historical background and am amazed at how much further Mr. Martin has taken the whole series. As you said, Eddings and Feist will always hold a place, but I am most anxious for the next in the Song of Ice and Fire series.

Church of Martin LOL. Funny thing is one of my old High School Teachers lent me the first two books in the series (which he had borrowed off of another student but don't tell them that ) saying that I needed to read proper fantasy after reading Eddings, Jordan and Feist

I started reading this the beginning of December, and I was overwhelmed quite quickly. But I kept at it, and it has developed into the greatest fantasy series I have ever read.
I am halfway through SoS. I am amazed most of all at the characters; they all have very different, and very unique personalities, and in fantasy writing, I think that is a huge plus.
