Thanks John,

High Rage and Impending storm look like interesting acquicistions as well btw.

Just picked up Margaret Weis's Mistress of Dragons in massmarket size... I also had the new Tad Williams mmp, War of Flowers in my hands, but the last store copy had a bubbled spine :( So I'll have to wait a couple weeks before I can add it to the pile ;)

My recent haul from the bookstore:

The War for the Flowers PB, Tad Williams
The Wreck of the River of Stars PB, Michael Flynn
Snare PB, Katharine Kerr
The Amazon and the Warrior PB, Judith Hand
Odd Corners TP, William Hjortsberg

And I picked up a DVD of a funky French animated movie called The Triplets of Belleville which just came out here.

Edit:

I forgot The Broken Crescent PB, S. Andrew Swann
and I just picked up an order: Olympic Games TP, Leslie What

Just added to my "to read pile" the first two volumes in Patricia McKillip's The Riddle-Master Trilogy . :D

Zsinj, I thought they were surrealistic, rather than schizophrenic.

Yeah, Julian, I can certainly see the surrealistic quality to the pictures. In fact my dad told me that the covers reminded him of much darker versions of Salvador Dali's work.

Apart from Gardens of thre Moon, I've borrowed all the volumes of Steven Erikson's Malazan Books of the Fallen from a friend, so I finally went out and bought my own copies of the books. :D

Just got me '1610 A Sundial in a Grave' by Mary Gentle in trade paper.. hope it's as good as Ash :)

I just recently picked up, based on recommendations from the Hardboiled thread:

The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle TP, and The Wild Sheep Chase TP by Haruki Murakami

And a book I missed from last October:

A Path of Shadows PB, Lauren Haney

I gave in and ordered some books online that I promised I wouldn't order until my TBR pile went down.

Mistress of Dragons - Margaret Weis

Night of Blood - Richard Knaak

Guardians of the Lost - Weis & Hickman

I loved that book! It's different from Ash but I found it more addictive.

Actually I just bought Midnight Tides cause it finally came out here :)

I just had several books that I orderd from the UK come into my local indy bookstore:

Natural History PB, Justine Robson
I have had this on order first in TP form, and now in PB since last July !

Song of Troy PB, Colleen McCullough
Out of Print in the US

The Year of Our War HC, Steph Swainston

A couple of days ago I went to my local Waldenbooks store, intending only to buy R.A. Salvatore's "Paths of Darkness Quartet" omnibus collectors edition, but I also saw the hardback version of "Black House" by Stephen King and Peter Straub in the bargain books section for just $7.99. And since I already have the hardback version of "The Talisman" by King and Straub, I decided to pick "Black House" up in addition to "Paths of Darkness".

Beauty by Sheri S. Tepper
The Emperor of Dreams by Clark Ashton Smith
Aegyt by John Crowley
The Curse of Nine Banestones by Eric Van Lustbader

Shouldn't have,but...

... I bought two more novels:Nightingale's Lament by Simon R. Green and The Vampire Sextette edited by Marvin Kaye with stories by Tanith Lee and others.

On the weekend I picked up Jeff Vandermeer's City of Saints and Madmen, and Scott Bakkers Darkness That Comes Before. I was prety hjappy considering I wasn't 100% sure of what the Australian release status of either of them was and figured I'd have to pick them up online.
