I went to the bookstore yesterday, hoping to find Fevre Dream by George R.R. Martin!!! Some people have already read it and re-reading it! My dilemma is....It does not arrive here in Cananda until September!!! :( We seem to be behind everyone else!

I did pick up the second book to The Black Jewels Trilogy, Heir to the Shadows(Anne Bishop).

Also Kate Forsyth has a series of books that have been out for some time now. The Witches of Eileanan.I just got the last-Book 6-The Fathomless Caves. I will probably read this series while I am at my cottage! Great time to read!! :D

Umm... Fevre Dream isn't a new book. It's been out since 1983, even in Canada.

Indeed - but isn't it being republished?

Hmmm - that sounds rather nice!

Thanx Iskaral and Julian...

Maybe that is what has happened!! I know that has been happening with a few other books...republished that is!! :)

Yea! two weeks of nothing to do except read!! AAhhhhhh!!! :D

Yeah, I'd hunt through some used bookstores in your town. That's where I found my lovely first edition.

Or eBay. I see them on there all the time, the Fantasy Masterworks edition mostly.

Just ordered from Amazon

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind
The War of the Flowers by Tad Williams
Blackburne Covenant by Fabian Nicieza

Here are my recent purchases:

"The Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever" by Stephen R. Donaldson boxed set (I got this form my local bookstore and, other than the box being a bit faded in color, the books are virtually in perfect condition! Which is amazing since these are 1980's Del Rey editions!
&
"The Tales of the Lovecraft Mythos"

Update: Also, I wanted to add that I bought ASOIAF Book Two: "A Clash of Kings' by George R. R. Martin recently.

Recent Book Purchases:

The New Pearl Harbor TP, by David Ray Griffin, non-fiction

Catastrophe PB, by David Keys, non-fiction. A 'used' UK version that I bought through Amazon-Partners (USA). My first experience with buying a used book with them. The book came quickly, was in excellent condition, and I had no problems with my credit card (Amazon Payments) info going astray. A very good experience.

City of Saints and Madmen TP, by Jeff VanderMeer. A book from the UK that my local indy store had ordered, since they were unable to get the newer extended length book from the US publisher.

Absolution Gap PB, by Alastair Reynolds. Another UK book I ordered through my local bookstore.

The Tale of Murasaki TP, by Liza Dalby. I found a used copy.

Troll: A Love Story TP, by Johanna Sinisalo

Bare Bones PB, by Kathy Reichs

Death at La Fenice PB, Donna Leon

Chasing Shakespeares TP, Sarah Smith

The Time Traveler's Wife TP, Audrey Niffenegger

O Pioneers ! PB, by Willa Cather, for a local book group.

I picked up The Portrait of Mrs.Charbuque by Jeffrey Ford last night.
Looks like it's had a Commonwealth MMPB release (I think it had only been a trade before now?).

I just bought...
The Dragon Queen by Alice Borchardt
Across the Nightingale Floor by Lian Hearn
The Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop
The Liveship Traders trilogy by Robin Hobb
Tawny Man books 1 and 2 by Robin Hobb
Malazan Books by Steven Erikson

I have the whole summer to sit around and do nothing but read...and now I have plenty...too bad I spent all the money I had to get them :(

I just picked up:

The Cleric Quintet by R A Salvatore

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind

I just did my first amazon purchase, getting GotM by Erikson from amazon.co.uk, how much is 13 pounds anyway?

About $21 dollars, but books are way more expensive over here. I was actually quite stunned when I was in America, books cost about the same amount as a nice sandwich :D

Well from what I hear, everything is more expensive in Great Britain, or at least clothes, this girl I know says her cousins come over here and buy like $700 worth of clothes because it's such a 'good deal'. Oh well, that was with shipping included, so if I like GotM I'll just get the rest in one shipment and save money that way. :)

You will like Gardens of the Moon. I did the same thing and ended up buying the rest in one shipment from Amazon Canada. Great series...

Hmmm....I wonder if getting them from Canada would be cheaper.....*runs off to check*
