The most recent: some Borges, some Calvino, some Beagle, some Lawhead, some Vance, some more Vance, some Stasheff, some Shea, some Gentle, some Duncan, some May, some Howard and some Kay.

Hey, I actually recognized all those names! *exults in victory* Well, except May.

Anyway, I just bought Freedom and Necessity by Stephen Brust and Emma Bull. A pretty random buy, based on good things I remembered hearing about Brust, but it seems really good so far. I also realized that I had bought a couple of Kay books several months ago and then immediately lost them. Happiest things I've ever found at the bottom of a closet.

just bought...

I just bought;

Child of Prophecy ( which is just out in Belgium)

And yesterday I picked up Golden fool and the new Herbert & Anderson Dune book . ( I don't know the english title, the flemisch is "de Butlerse Jihad) ring any bells?

I'll start reading golden fool tonight. Hope that it's as good as the first book!

I just bought The Chronicles of Chrestomanci Volume II by Diana Wynne Jones. Just about finished with the first volume.

I have just taken deliver of Megan Lindholm's The Limbreth Gate and her Luck Of The Wheels... books 3 and 4 of 'The Windsinger Quartet'. In the same parcel was the complete Winter Of The World series by Michael Scot Rohan... I do not know much about these books I have to be honest... but the price was good for 6 books.

I do love a bargain :D

For those not in the know, Megan Lindholm also writes as Robin Hobb. The Windsinger quartet is her early stuff.

As for Michael Scott Rohan, I think he's underrated. Really enjoyed the Winter of the World trilogy (he has since written more in the same universe) but liked his Spiral books even more (Chase the Morning, The Gates of Noon and Cloud Castles).

Obligatory on-topic:
Recently bought:
To Say Nothing of the Dog: Connie Willis
Donnerjack: Roger Zelazny and Jane Lindskold
Lord Demon: Roger Zelazny and Jane Lindskold

Have already read library copies but wanted to re-read them.

One of the bookstores locally just brought in some of the Fantasy/ Science Fiction Masterworks so I got Viriconium by M. John Harrison and I am Legend by Richard Matheson.

Next on my list from that same bookstore are Land of Laughs by Jonathan Carroll, Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazney, and Chronicles of Conan, books 1 & 2 by Robert E. Howard. Wooo!

Whoo hoo!

Just recieved The Scar (mieville) and Hobb's Assassin tri, via my LOVELY bookclub :D

Looks like I'll be buying a new copy of Blade of Tyshalle... my GF's bratty young cat decided to knock over a glass of water onto a pile of books. The other books made it through with minimal damage, but Blade was pretty much soaked :(

The others in the pile were : Dawnthief, Noonshade, Nightchild, Barbed Coil and Heroes Die.

Doesn't look like I'll be buying too many books in the next month or so...just sent off a list of books to my parents for Xmas purposes. I'll be picking up Fool's Errand on Nov26 and I think Paul Kearney's Ship of the West will be out in mid-late Dec.

just bought ...
American Gods, Daughter of the Blood and Ash

just gotta read Ash now... *yawn*

Coldheart Canyon - Clive Barker on unabridged audio arrived today from Mr Ebay. Now to do lots of less boring walking

I just bought Paul Kearney's "Monarchies of God" Series and Robert Rankins "The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse" I read the first few chapters of this and its hysterical but I need to finish monarchies first. I have a thing for books I can’t get in the states for some reason.

I just bought 2 very different books.

The first was Mievilles "The Scar". Hopefully it will overcome what I thought were the shortcomings of PSS.

The other was Morgawr by Terry Brooks. I'm not expecting a whole lot from this - the books in this sub series have been pretty average so far.

Thought i'd update you on my shopping habits:).

Gridlinked by Neal Asher - It's a sci-fi novel and not something i'd usually read but he posts over at the malazan forum so I thought i'd give him a go.

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind - I've heard mixed reviews on this one but I still enjoy the story.

The first book of Ash by Mary Gentle - Will reading just the first book be enough to hook me? I decided to by the first book from amazon instead of buying the one big book as the text in that is tiny.

The Book of Athyra by Brust.

I don't know how long the first book of Ash is, as I have the single volume one, but I began to really enjoy it around the first 50-100 pages:)

Bugger i'm on a spending spree.

Just ordered His Conquering Sword by Kate Elliott from amazon. Will be interesting to see if they actually have it like they claim as it's very hard to find.

Then went to the city to grab The Law of the Becoming by Elliott it being the 4th Jaran book and also scarce.

While I was there I got a pleasent suprise.

Fools Fate and Hidden Warrior were both there so I grabbed them as well.:)

Every time I go to the bookstore there are more books I want to buy!
Shadowheart by James Barclay
Lord of the Shadows by Jennifer Fallon
Book of Dreams by Traci Harding
Fool's Fate by Robin Hobb
Jarka Ruus by Terry Brooks
and there are still a few more to come out!
More Elliot books too! Oh great my bank balance is not going to thank me (if Aleski's the Jaran book tell me - he's my fav)

Yesterday I picked up the trade paperback version of Hobb's Fool's Fate and the mass market paperback version of Erikson's House of Chains. I'm very excited - now all I need is some time to read all the other books I've bought!
