I just ordered Lamentation by Ken Scholes on Amazon. Was tempted to pay the extra for priority shipping because it takes so damn long for books to get to Australia from Amazon and this book looks amazing. (In the end, I thought better of forking at the extra green). I've read the sample chapter and short story on the Tor website and I have got the strong impression that this book will be in the same league as The Name of the Wind in terms of fabulous fantasy debuts.

Not sure if it goes here or sci-fi (I've seen the arguments), but I picked up all things Majipoor by Silverberg. I even went after the short stories by acquiring Legends, Legends II and Flights. I managed to pick it all up, in rather nice condition, but the shipping cost me twice the total purchase. :mad:

Oh, some truly fantastic reading coming. Better yet, I've acquired a nice copy of something I've coveted for some time, but didn't want to pony up the cash for. Then I found it (AbeBooks) for an acceptable price.

I LOVED The Fionavar Tapestry. And I think you'll also love Silverberg's Majipoor books. I am reading a few pieces in Flights of Fantasy right now.
