Lucid Dreaming

I know of a lucid dreamer on another forum who's 5year old has started to lucid dream, its cool cause he can really help and understand her.

I'd occasionally lucid dream as a kid, always good though, giant present making machine :D

Graham Joyce has a pretty good, rather creepy novel about lucid dreaming called DREAMSIDE.

There was a good film called "Dreamscape" about an assassin who telepathically projected himself into the dreams of his victims and killed them in the dream, thus killing them in life.
Check it out peeps, starred Dennis Quaid.

Huh? I don't understand.
?which bit?

I've often thought of that film, my lucid dreams are lit in that really surreal way, like when he's on the train.

Who is her? The one who the five year old can help...

What was a machine? Your dreams?

Having read my post back I can see my sentance construction could do with brushing up, sorry.

I ment this guy who's a lucid dreamer has a 5 year old daughter. He noticed from what she was telling him about her dreams that she's been lucid dreaming. In your case your parents thought you might be psychotic, in this case the guy can help his daughter through the difficult parts of LD's.

I was also recalling one of my lucid dreams as a child where I found myself on my floor in my room. In my room was a giant machine, all I had to do was press a button and out plopped a present.

I wish I had had parents more open minded, and understanding. But I gave up that wish a long time ago... Besides, I can just dream up a new set, right?

Have you ever read The Otherland...?

The Otherland (by Tad Williams) is basically about people, whom by scientific means escape to another world by computer control of the brain... kind of like dreaming, just less natural. It's a virtual reality experiance for them, where they know it is fake but they have the ability to preprogram what happens and indulge in it all with all five of the wonderful senses. All this talk of lucid dreams reminded me of it. There is different virtual worlds that people can go 'live' in too... even a lotr one. Sounds good to me...

*eyes start to glow, breath huffs with the thousand voices of the wisest ancients*

god I'm such a ham

Ah, that you are SaintJon! Besides your just jealous that you can't lucid dream! :p

Am not!! :P

...yes I am
Anyone can lucid dream, all its takes is practice, some are more naturally gifted though, a bit like being good at art or maths.

This talk of dreams intrigues me... without fear, I think, I am ready to plunge into the darkest of them.

Actually its almost impossible not to have had a lucid dream in your life. Apparantly a normal adult gets 1 or two a year, many slip back into normal sleep and forget though.

Sometimes you may awake feeling you had such a vivid dream it makes your head spin. Actually just reading this will be enough to prime your mind, next time it happens to you naturally your mind will remember this post and you'll awake properly in your dream.

There are many techniques, click on my website button for some of them.

Dreams, well since a friend in the US sent me a pair of dream catchers from the Black Hills... my dreams have been rather unusual to say the least. ;)

Day dreams I try not to have, unless I am in reach of the computer, as I tend to use them to work on my story lines...

Question, have you ever dreamed or day dreamed an event in your personal life that has come true? Weeks, years or months later????

A psychic would try to slip into a state thats resembles dreaming, the awake/asleep state. So for the man/woman off the street dreamings as close as your going to get without training.

Dream forums have many instances of this type of prophetic dreaming, by people who are just bemused that it happened at all. Science would call it coincidence, and some I'm sure are just that.
