Malcolm is a name you may not of heard of outside the UK. In fact, you may not have in the UK.

However, as well as being a critic and an editor, Malcolm was the head of Gollancz Publishing in the 1970's and 80's, and was therefore the man in charge of introducing many SF & Fantasy authors to the general public.
According to Wikipedia, "As editor, Malcolm Edwards has worked with J. G. Ballard (he edited Empire of the Sun), Tom Clancy, Philip K. Dick, Stephen King, William Gibson, Robert Ludlum, James Patterson, Robert Holdstock, Terry Pratchett and many others.
Was told today that he has died having suffered with Parkinson's Disease for a while.
Tenuous connection here - years ago I bought a job lot of The Magazine of Fantasy & SF from the 1960's and 70's on ebay. Pencilled address on a few of them: the previous owner was Malcolm Edwards.
RIP Malcolm.
