Congrats!
Nothing like having someone else decide you're good enough to make money off, eh?
Word of advice (ignore if this isn't your first rodeo). Prepare to promote when this thing finally hits the streets. Depending on your publisher's queue, this could be anywhere from four months to a year. Your best avenue for promotion is to seek out SF&F conventions and grab a table. You need to do this as soon as possible - we're talking six months or so in advance. At most conventions (not the huge ones) tables can run up to $100 dollars, so it's always best to share with a fellow author if you can and split the costs. Book marks do okay, but I've found CD samplers do much better. If DD does POD, get yourself about twenty copies and keep in mind this stuff is tax deductible. Oh, and make sure you arrange to get on panels. Now that you're published, new doors open.
Facebook and an author's page are musts. Promote "lightly", which means no drive-by spamming. Toss your first chapter (and only your first) up on your site (with publisher's permission).
Whew...hope this helps. Again, congrats and welcome to the club!
