i only looked at a few but they are vraiment bon! yes, the portait is kinda wierd but absolutly grand in my opinion. you probably already know youre good, but its still nice to another person say it.. so yes thumbs up

Hey, you're pretty good. The computer stuff was kind of weird ("I have cheese for a hand"...he he) but your drawings are really good--I like your style.

That self-portrait is good...but, you don't have low self-esteem, do you? I'm sure you must look a bit better than that. (And his avatar is a picture of a toilet...maybe I'm on to something here.)

Seriously, your art is good. Are you going to try and do it as a career? You should--graphic arts is a growing field.

Well, I like to consider my portrait a very "artistic" version of myself. I am, in fact, far more hideous.

But this is good. Some positive responses. I usually just get an "Ooooooooo-kay" or an "Eww." I know it's a little weird, but I got tired of realism after years and years of it and I went a little nuts.

I would like to, but I have never been good in art classes. They usually just want realism, which I get tired of. But if something like a comic-book job ever came along, I would more than likely jump on it. I like painting my ugly little paintings.

And, no, I have absolutely no self-esteem.

Actually, Al, those look good.

They remind me of those Lemony Snicket or Romano Dirge artworks I see here and there. Now that I think about it, those two artists write gothic children's stories. So maybe there's a living to be made with these.

Snicket wrote a series of booklets called 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' while Dirge created this character of a cute little undead girl which I forgot the name. Go check 'em out.

Actually, estranghero, I already have. I have the first two Lemony Snicket Books, and all of Dirge's Lenore series. I love them both. I'd be lying through my teeth if i said that Dirge and Vasquez (another slave labor graphics guy . . . Invader Zim/Johnny the Homocidal Maniac, etc.) weren't influences. But if I could get a job doing something like that, I'd certainly take it. But it's a difficult field to get somewhere in. Art, like writing, is a tough place to make a name for yourself.

I like the self portrait. Kind of reminds me of this guy I met in Austin once. Of course he had far more facial piercings and jingled when he walked, but the features are very similar.

What's with this 'Invader Zim' anyway? I keep hearing about it but been too lazy to look it up.

And oh yeah, what about Art Spiegelman's 'Maus'?

Invader Zim is a show drawn by Jhonen Vasquez about an alien bent on conquering the world. His name is Zim. The show is brilliant. It certainly isn't everyone's cup of tea, some say it's way too bizarre, but the comedy is right up my alley and I love it. If you live in the U.S. and have Nickelodeon, it comes on fridays at 9:30 P.M. (eastern times here) and Sundays from 1 to 2 P.M. Catch it. It's great . . . or at least I think so.

Never heard of Maus, though.

Thanks for the input, folks. I'm always interested in opinions, postitve or negative (and these have been mostly postitve, which is a good thing). And for some pointless information, Pic 18 was for a comic book I was working on with a friend of mine that (surprise, surprise) fell through. I have a notebook full of that kind of stuff from the six months on the project, but most of it is much too large for me to scan. Oh well.

You're a talented man.

You're style reminds of a post modern noir Picasso. I'm serious about that. I actually find your style ineresting and very original. It is something I could never do, and is perhaps part of why I admire the blatant display of eccentric originality in your art.
You know Alucard I think you really have captured something here. Of course I'm no expert, but bottom line, I like what I like.

In my most humble opinion Alcuard
the "Ego" one is sheer genius. I hope that you have tried to get some kind of serious exposure for it. The piece is striking and thought provoking and you have given it a great title. Enter it in some art fairs and contests. Do something with it. At the very least get it on display and sell it for ten or twenty thousand.

Cigarman is also great and some thought should be given to getting exposure for it was well
