But Brian Donlevy wasn't in Quatermass II, he was in Quatermass 2, the Hammer Films re-make. The original six episodes of the BBC's Quatermass II with John Robinson as the professor are up on YouTube if you want to check it out. It might be the one.
 
I remember an old TV show or made for TV movie or maybe even a movie on TV. I was a very little kid when it was on, and it was my sister who was watching it, so my memory may be fuzzy, or maybe I imagined the whole thing.

But I seem to remember a movie about a younger brother and an older brother at a summer camp. The older brother sometimes picks on the younger brother, (but still loves him) and there is a part when the older brother gets in trouble with the faculty. I also vividly remember a scene in which the younger brother is having a birthday and for a joke they decorate a fake cake for him that he can't cut with a knife because it's made of wood or cardboard or something. Am I imagining this movie?
 
Doesn't mean anything to me but giving us some dates might help other people. We need a frame of reference When were you a 'little kid'? Knowing that would let people discount anything made after that date.

The 2-hour series pilot ("Machine Dreams") has been available on region 1 DVD and VHS (Canada and the United States) since 2000. The series was broadcasting in Italy as of 2010 on Fantasy channel (Sky pay-TV), dubbed in Italian language.​

On February 22, 2011, Alliance Home Entertainment released the complete series for the first time on DVD (uncut) in Canada only.[15]​

I'm not sure where you are in the world, Dave, but got any friends in Japan or Canada? - and do you have a DVD player that will play region 1 discs (Canada) and region 2 (Japan)?
 
Not wanting to encourage or condone that sort of reprehensible behaviour but there is a very healthy torrent of the entire season out there.

Can anyone remember an old made-for-TV movie called "Distant Early Warning" from the '70s? - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0266471/

According to IMDB it was part of "The WIde World Of Mystery" series. Set in a remote Arctic research station, which is targeted by aliens who take over the personnel one by one. Yes very "The Thing"-ish! As far as I can recall the "body-snatched" have a small protrusion in the back of their neck (a la "Invaders From Mars"). It was very haunting & nightmare-inducing for this toddler eh!

I don't believe this movie/episode even exists anymore, but I'm just throwing it out, I would love to see this again.

Anyone else remember it?

[EDIT: I do remember the ending (vaguely)... The U.S. President is giving a televised speech, and the camera rotates to the back of him & you see the protrusion in his neck!]
