I recently wrote and self published a micro fiction anthology, inspired by the Ernest Hemingway mythos of him being able to write a compelling story in 6 words, and am wondering if this is the best place to post about it for discussion. I've read through a lot of threads here and I think there are a lot of folks who give good criticism and perspective, so I think this is a great place for something so niche and singular as a micro fiction anthology.

Hi @Sci-fi Unchained! Welcome to SFFWorld! It's nice to meet you.

I'm unclear about the purpose of your post. This is the forum to discuss the craft of writing and all things related, including getting critique on your stories. However, if you are wanting to promote your new anthology, that will need to be done in our Promotion Zone. We have published authors participating in discussions here in the Writing Forum. They mention their published works from time to time, but in the context of examples of how they handled X issue they or other writers are dealing with. So while it's possible to discuss your published work here, actual promotion and advertising for it must be kept to the Promotion Zone.

Thank you for the clarification. I'm brand new here and don't know all the rules and norms just yet, so I appreciate the guidance!

You're welcome, and no worries. We all start in the same place: as new members of the community! :D Are you wanting to discuss microfiction?

I am, indeed! I am fascinated by narrative forms that inspire imaginative thought, especially with little to no effort on the part of the participant. If I give you the micro fiction story, "Permanent smiles, chaos clowns, dripping knives", then the readers mind is going to make some lite connections of their own as to how that story came about and a series of events in and around it. Its a fun writing exercise as well.

Very micro! haha, I think Hemingway was ahead of his time, if the myth is to be believed. Really, world building in general usually starts with a small acorn sized idea/prompt like these in most cases, I find
