Nyphron Rising Riyria Series

Is anyone else here reading this series by Michael J. Sullivan? I got hooked by the Crown Conspiracy right away and Nyphron Rising has me itching to get volume four Emerald Storm when it releases. The series reminds me of Scott Lynch's Lies of Locke Lamora.

Yeah I read them, really enjoyed them too. I don't really find them as self-contained as the author and publisher made them out to be, but the story is definitely top notch. I thought that Nyphron Rising was probably the weakest of the three, with Avempartha being the best, but all are definitely entertaining reads. There is nothing really original about the series, but the story telling is great. All the way through I cared about what was happening to the characters, which isn't true in very many series I read.

I've literally just finished Crown Conspiracy and am disappointed I don't have Avempartha ready to read. I'm going to order it right now cause I thought it was a great read, very entertaining, and like darksbane said, even though it wasn't anything original, it had me hooked and I already care about the characters after Volume 1.

I'm looking forward to the next one landing on my doorstep.

The series kind of reminds me of a thieves buddy book. I think volume four is due out around April. Nyphron Rising was so good that I wish Emerald Storm was in my hands now.

I've been trying to get a hold of this series here in sweden but it doesn't seem like any bookstores have it=( I guess I'll just order it from abroad. Seems to be right up my alley!

IMHO it's an interesting enough reading, but nothing spectacular. Not a new Lynch or new Abercrombie.

I ordered directly from the author himself and bought the trilogy and he signed them. I only paid an additional $10 to have them shipped directly to Korea. And they were here in no time at all.
