I enjoyed Jonathan Strange. The pace was leisurely, but I rather liked that.

Just started The Light Ages by Ian MacLeod. It reads like science fiction, though the premise is distinctly magical.

Just started JONATHAN STRANGE & Mr. NORRELL by Susanna Clarke and am enjoying it so far.

I enjoyed Jonathan Strange. The pace was leisurely, but I rather liked that.

I thought it was a fabulous book, easily the best debut novel I have read in a long, long time, and one of if not the best fiction novel I read last year.

I really was captivated by everything, from her depiction of London, her handling of magic, her faiere, and the histroy she was able to seemigly put behind everything. Top notch novel IMHO, already has, and should continue to garner many awards . Unbelievable debut, really enjoyed it

Yes, I appreciated that Clarke took the time to do all that, rather than merely crowding her tale with incident.
