I just finished The Narrator by Michael Cisco. Great novel. Cisco has some of the best prose that I have ever read.
Now taking a step away from fantasy with either The Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht or Leeches by David Albahari.
I am curious what you think about either - they both have traces of the fantastic - I liked the style of Tiger's Wife and it kept me turning pages to the end but the book left me a bit cold there and also it had a bit of E European patronizing imho (I am kind of sensitive to this as being from there so I may imagine it but still) despite (or maybe because) the author lived there for her first 7-8 years
I am reading now Leeches and it is superb so far; The Narrator is on my to read list
